For Day 4 of the fabulous Art Every Day Month, I am going to share three faces I drew on Post-its. I have had this habit of drawing on Post-its ever since I first discovered Post-its, probably when I began working in offices 20 or so years ago. It has gotten so the sight of a Post-it seems to activate something in my right hand and to not draw on it takes an act of stern self discipline that I usually cannot muster.
I used to think it was a bad habit and felt a little guilty about it. I worked for one company for 11 years, and when I left, my co-workers presented me with a beautiful framed collage of my Post-it doodles that a friend had snuck out of of my desk drawer. Now, since I can’t break the habit, I just go with it and try to make them pretty.
I have discovered that Post-its take well to art markers and that I can make interesting enhancements in photo processing software such as PhotoShop and Gimp. Currently, I like to paint on them a little in Gimp before I finalize them. I have drawn hundreds, but here are my latest three…..
